The Centre on Friday appointed directors in 10 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Among them is IIM Bangalore, where Prof. G. Raghuram of IIM Ahmedabad has been appointed director.

The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the names. Of the 20 IIMs in the country, 13 have been headless for several months.

Prof. Raghuram has been a faculty member at IIM-Ahmedabad since 1985. He was the Dean (Faculty) there from September 2013 to December 2015. He now replaces Sushil Vachani, whose resignation from the post of director, IIM Bangalore, has been accepted by the Centre.
