Efforts to resolve political issues yielding results: Omar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said the sustained efforts of his government to create an amiable atmosphere for resolving political issues are finally yielding “positive” results.

“My government’s sustained endeavours to create political atmosphere for tackling political issues have started yielding positive results,” he said here at a function on completion of two-year of his government.

The Chief Minister said he is committed to facilitate dialogue process and help in expanding confidence building measures for resolving political issues in the state.

Enumerating the achievements of his government, Mr. Omar said during the two years of his rule 25,000 educated youths got government jobs, while more than 43,000 people were provided employment in other sectors.

“Besides providing considerable employment to the youth in government sector, our endeavour is to help them venture in a big way in the field of entrepreneurship sector,” he said.

The National Conference Chief Minister said “Our agenda is to ensure equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the state and in this direction a comprehensive policy has been put in place.”

Mr. Omar also appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony in the state, saying “Many people want to disturb the communal harmony prevailing in the state since ages and de-stabilise the bonds of solidarity between various religions. You should stand firmly against such forces and foil their designs.”
