The CBI has got 10 days’ custody of the gangster in a forged passport case.

Two sisters of underworld don Chhota Rajan have been allowed to meet him at the Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters on the occasion of “Bhai Dooj” on Friday.

Acting on the observations made by a Delhi court, asking the agency to consider their plea on compassionate grounds, the case investigation officer allowed the two sisters a brief meeting with Rajan.

The sisters, Malini Sakpal and Sunita Chavan, had on Thursday moved an application seeking permission to meet Rajan, stating that they had not met him for the past 27 years and wanted to bless him on “Bhai Dooj” festival. They requested that their son-in-law Anil Menon be allowed to accompany them, as they were medically not fit.

During the hearing at the residence of Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar, the court on Friday asked the sisters to submit their application to the case investigating officer. The court also asked the investigating officer to consider the plea, albeit taking security concerns into consideration.
