Angered by the recent remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the UPA government, the Congress on Friday said it planned to send spokespersons to every country he visits in order to tell their side of the story.
“Now wherever the Prime Minister goes, our spokesperson will trail him and rebut him then and there,” said Congress leader and former Union Minister Anand Sharma. “We can’t take it any longer,” he added.
Addressing the Indian Diaspora along with Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper in Toronto, Mr. Modi had said that his government had inherited a “scam India.” “Those who had to spread filth, have done so and gone, we are cleaning up behind them,” he had said.

Mr. Sharma said previous Prime Ministers of the country, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh, had never taken domestic politics abroad.
“The Prime Minister should apologise. We have honoured the convention so far. Mr. Modi should realise that he goes abroad as the Prime Minister of the country and not as a ‘pracharak’ of BJP and RSS,” Mr. Sharma said.
