The Cauvery River Authority met on September 19 and directed Karnataka to release 9,000 cusecs of water a day for 25 days. Thereafter, the Cauvery Monitoring Committee has been meeting every fortnight and issuing directions. Since September 12 (when the Supreme Court ordered the CRA to meet), Karnataka was to have released 39.92 tmcft, whereas it has released 41.87 tmcft.
