Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan on Monday hit back at the party leadership over the show-cause issued to him by the National Disciplinary Committee, accusing its member Pankaj Gupta of accepting donations from dubious companies and another member Ashish Khetan of doing a “paid news” story favouring a company.

In his response to the notice which was issued to him on April 17, Mr. Bhushan questioned the move, saying both Mr. Gupta and Mr. Khetan had levelled allegations against him and sought to be judges in their own case.

“You also know that there have been serious charges against you yourself. These included the acceptance of donations of Rs. 2 crore from shell companies, without taking the approval of the PAC as required by the party’s rules,” Mr. Bhushan said in his letter to Mr. Gupta.

He also accused Mr. Khetan of writing a “planted” story and added that instead of taking action, the party appointed the former journalist as the chairperson of the Delhi Dialogue commission.
