The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has promised to rigorously pursue the Centre for maintaining heightened vigilance along porous India-China border and drawing an action plan in case of an eventuality if the party was voted to power in Arunachal Pradesh.
The BJP stated in its poll manifesto for October 13 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections that “China’s repeated claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Centre’s meek response to it does not go down well with Arunachalees."

The party also promised that the BJP-led government will impress upon the Centre to immediately open border trade with China through Bumla, Taksing, Mechukha, Gelling and Wallong and to reopen border trade through the historic Stilwell road which connects Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh with Kuning city of China via Myanmar and to establish traditional trade relation with Bhutan.
The manifesto was formally released by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi at Itanagar on Saturday in presence of party’s in-charge of northeast Chandrasekhar Rao and senior leaders of the poll-bound State including the former MP Tapir Gao.

Other poll promises include providing government job compulsorily to one member of every BPL family, special allowance of Rs. 1,000 a month to educated unemployed belonging to economically weaker sections, free electricity to BPL families, demarcation and classification of land into private, community, personal, virgin forest, reserve forest and government land and introduction of land registration act under which every village shall have a recorded map of its territory.
The party promised to free the border State from “poverty, corruption and insecurity.” The BJP is planning to contest in 30-35 seats of the total 60 seats of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and will have internal understanding with independents and regional parties for the remaining seats.
