Even as the United Progressive Alliance–Opposition members' verbal duel vis-à-vis corruption in holding the Commonwealth Games (CWG) continued on Tuesday too in the Lok Sabha, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports M.S. Gill promised to reply to all charges of irregularities after October 15, post games. Without specifying a joint parliamentary committee probe (JPC), as sought by the Opposition, he said the government was ready to order whatever inquiry sought by them.

“Our government will be there even after October 15. Let the focus now be on the sportspersons when the Games are not far off,” he said in reply to a debate on the preparations for the CWG.

“Everyone is concerned over the preparedness as it related to the country's image.” All was well with the preparations and the event would be held with grandeur.
