The former Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Amit Shah, left the State on Sunday morning in accordance with the Supreme Court's order.

His family sources said he had gone to Mumbai. But how long he would be there and whether he would go to other places during the period he had been asked by the court to stay out of Gujarat, had yet not been decided.

The court, which refused to accept the CBI plea for the cancellation of his bail granted by the Gujarat High Court, however, had asked him to stay out of the State till further orders and had posted the next hearing of the case on November 15. This means that Mr. Shah would have to be out of Gujarat at least for the next fortnight.

Mr. Shah, who was arrested by the CBI on July 25 as a prime accused in the Sohrabuddin – Kausar Bi murder case, was granted conditional bail by the Gujarat High Court on Friday and was released from the Sabarmati Central Jail the same evening even before the CBI filed an appeal in the Supreme Court the same night for the cancellation of his bail.
