Alleged IM operative held in Mumbai

An alleged operative of the Indian Mujahideen was on Tuesday arrested from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad.

Officials said Zainul Abedin was arrested after he landed in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

"We had received information that Abedin would be coming to India to visit his native Bhatkal, and that he would be going there via Mumbai. Accordingly, we laid a trap and arrested him," an ATS officer said.

> 2011 serial blasts in Mumbai, and was also suspected to have been supplying firearms and other arsenal to IM operatives across the country, the officer said He was wanted by the anti-terror agencies in several States and the Maharashtra ATS had issued a Red Corner Notice in his name, he added.
