31 IPS officers transferred in Gujarat

The Gujarat government on Monday effected a large scale reshuffle in the police department with the transfer of 31 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officials, including Police Commissioners of Rajkot and Vadodara cities, and five Range IGs. The orders were issued late night on Monday.

As per the orders, Rajkot Police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot has been moved to Vadodara instead of Manoj Shashidhar, who has been made Range IG of Panchmahal in central Gujarat.

Similarly, Manoj Agarwal, Secretary in the Home department, has been appointed as new Police Commissioner of Rajkot.

Senior IPS Rajkumar Pandian, who was a key accused in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, has been shifted from Junagadh to Surat as Range IG.

Neerja Gotru Rao has been moved out from Ahmedabad city and made Additional DG, State monitoring cell. Hasmukh Patel, Special Director of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been appointed as Managing Director of Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation.

Recently, the State government also carried out large scale reshuffle in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), including Municipal Commissioners in Vadodara and Ahmedabad, besides appointing new Home Secretary.
