14 fishermen missing as 4 boats capsize

Fourteen fishermen went missing on Saturday as four fishing boats capsized in the sea off Alibaug due to rough weather.

Police Inspector R.D. Shinde told The Hindu over telephone that the boats went out to the sea around noon, and by 4 p.m., the fishermen were reported missing.

‘Chandraprabha', one of the four boats, capsized, but all the nine persons on board swam to the shore.

Two fishermen from the boat ‘Yogeshwarkrupa' were being treated at a hospital.

Rescue operations were on.
