Thirteen people were killed and eight others seriously injured when an overloaded jeep plunged into a deep ravine near Samkot in Munsiary in Pithoragarh district on Tuesday morning.
The victims were going to a fair when the tragedy struck, police said.
The injured have been admitted to hospitals at Pithoragarh, Munsiary and Tejam.
