Uttar Pradesh police arrested 49 people and constituted an SIT a day after a communal clash led to the death of one person at Kasganj town. Though the curfew-bound town remained tense, the situation was largely in control though there were attempts to further flare up the situation on January 27.

Sixty-three people were killed and 151 injured in a ambulance bomb attack in Kabul on Saturday, according to the country's Health Ministry official. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for the blast.
