A freight truck lost control and crashed into a bus stop in a northern Chinese city, killing eight people and injuring six others, China Central Television said on Wednesday.
The truck driver, who survived the crash, said the brakes malfunctioned and that he failed to see the bus stop in the city of Zhangjiakou in the northern province of Hebei.
Video footage shows the truck barrelling through an intersection and colliding with at least three cars.
