A man carries a placard calling US President Barack Obama "The Kitchen Boy of the White House" and expressing many things he thinks are wrong with US foreign policy, as protestors demonstrate against Mr. Obama's visit in Pretoria, South Africa, on Friday.

More than 1,000 trade union activists marched in protest in Pretoria on Friday ahead of the arrival of US President Barack Obama.

The protesters denounced US foreign policy, including the military prison at Guantanamo Bay and drone strikes. Some held banners criticising Israel and in support of a Palestinian State.

“No you can’t, Obama - Imprison without trial” and “Obama guilty of war crimes” read some signs at the rally, which was peaceful and orderly.
