New information released by the London metropolitan police on the case of three women held in captivity for 30 years suggests that the offenders came to the U.K. from India and Tanzania in the 1960s.
The story has taken a curious turn with the police now saying two of the women (possibly the 69-year-old Malaysian and the 57-year-old Irish woman) had met the arrested man “through a shared political ideology” and then moved in together in a “collective.”
This would suggest that from a voluntary arrangement, the women over time became captive to the couple.
The police are conducting searches in and around Peckford Place in Brixton, south London.
