An Egyptian court on Saturday rejected a breach of trust petition against Mohammed ElBaradei, who resigned as vice president more than two months ago to protest a deadly crackdown on Islamist protesters, state-run television reported.
The court did not give an explanation for its ruling, which was in response to a lawsuit filed by a law professor at the state-run Helwan University.
The claimant argued that the Nobel Peace Prize winner was appointed vice president as a representative of the opposition National Salvation Front and should have referred his resignation to the the bloc.

ElBaradei, a pro-reform campaigner, quit in mid-August to protest a clampdown on two main protest camps held in Cairo by backers of president Mohamed Morsy, who was overthrown by the military in July.
Hundreds of supporters of Mr Morsy’s Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups were killed in the crackdown.
Mr ElBaradei, a former head of the Vienna-based U.N. nuclear watchdog, has been living in Austria since his resignation.
