Gunmen shot dead an army officer in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Thursday, Libya’s independent Press Solidarity Agency reported.
The unidentified attackers fired several times at Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Fathi in central Benghazi, said the agency, citing an unnamed security official. Lt. Fathi is a senior officer at an army base in Benghazi, according to the report.
There was no claim of responsibility or an official comment.
