A 6.5-magnitude earthquake has hit the Pacific island nation of Tonga, but no tsunami warning has been issued.
The U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center says the quake hit shortly after 20-46 GMT Saturday.
The quake struck 218 miles (353 kilometers) northwest of the capital, Nuku’alofa. It occurred 127 miles (205 kilometers) below the surface.
