May 07, 2011 08:22 pm | Updated December 04, 2021 11:01 pm IST - LONDON:

The 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore got off to a start here at the weekend with a lecture by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen on “What Difference does Tagore Make?” at the British Museum, which is also hosting an exhibition of Tagore's paintings.

Both events are organised jointly by the Indian High Commission and the British Museum.

A series of commemorative events, organised by the High Commission, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Nehru Centre, will be held across Britain as part of the year-long celebrations.
