At least 10 people were feared dead in a bomb blast that targeted yet another candidate from the Awami National Party in Karachi late on Friday. Nearly 40 people, some of them children, were injured in the blast that took place near a corner meeting organised in Mominabad area of Orangi Town for ANP candidate Bashir Jan.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility. On Thursday, five people were killed in a blast at a Muttahida Qaumi Movement election office in Karachi. Much before candidates hit the campaign trail, the TTP had warned people against attending election rallies.
