Former Pakistan President General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf has been summoned by a special court. He has been asked to appear on December 24 which will try him for high treason. His legal counsel Mohammed Ali Saif told The Hindu on the phone on Friday that formal summons were yet to be received from the court and he had only read the news in the media.

“We will chalk out a strategy for the case after we received the summons,” he said. He said Gen. Musharraf in the meanwhile would comply with all the legal requirements.

On Thursday, the federal interior ministry secretary submitted a formal complaint in the special court to summon Gen. Musharraf for his trial in the high treason case and convict him in accordance with the law and the Constitution.
