Two officials of the Lyari Development Authority were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle near the Urdu Science University in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal town on Sunday, Geo TV reported on Monday.

Five other people, including two policemen, also lost their lives in different parts of the city in the violence.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the killings and demanded the federal government to impose martial law in Sindh as the provincial government had failed in maintaining peace in the city.
