Pakistan PM, President, greet India on Republic Day

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif greeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the occasion of Republic Day on Sunday and said his Government was committed to forging friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

In a message to the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Sharif said: “ On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, it gives me immense pleasure to convey to you, the Government and people of India, warm greetings on the occasion of the Republic Day of India. We are committed to forging friendly and cooperative relations between our two countries, which we believe are in our mutual interest and essential for the progress and prosperity of the peoples of our region. We wish you good health and happiness and to the people of India continued progress and prosperity."

President Mamnoon Hussain also sent his wishes for India’s progress and prosperity to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and added “it is our sincere wish to build mutually beneficial, friendly and cooperative relations between our two countries.”
