Imran calls for temporary halt to operations

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan on Sunday asked the PML-N government to temporarily suspend military operation in North Waziristan tribal district to allow thousands of trapped civilians move out of the area.

Mr. Khan said Bannu, a city of one million people, was not prepared to deal with the expected influx of over half a million people. Meanwhile, the military authorities have extended the deadline for the evacuation of civilians on Sunday.
