Grief in Pakistan over Syedna’s death

Prominent leaders in Pakistan condoled the passing away of the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohras Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin on Friday in Mumbai. President Mamnoon Hussain expressed profound grief and sorrow in a statement.

In his condolence message to the family and to his followers, Mr. Hussain lauded his services for the people and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also expressed deep grief over the demise of the Syedna.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain in a message from London expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow in a condolence message. Mr. Hussain said that Syedna Burhanuddin spent his entire life for preaching peace, brotherhood and dignity for mankind. He worked tirelessly for spreading this message and served the humanity greatly. Although he was the spiritual leader of the Bohra community but his service to humanity transcended all barriers and his services were universally acknowledged.

Mr. Hussain said that Syedna Burhanuddin was a beacon of light for everyone who loved humanity. He said that the MQM was with the Bohra community in this hour of grief and sorrow. Pakistan Peoples Party patron in chief Bilawal Bhutto recalled the efforts of the late Syedna for promotion of religious and scientific education besides spreading the message of peace.
