Osama’s family to leave Pakistan at midnight

The lawyer for Osama bin Laden’s family says the slain al-Qaeda chief’s three widows and their children are scheduled to be deported to Saudi Arabia around midnight.

Mohammed Amir Khalil says the departure later on Tuesday coincides with the end of a 45-day prison sentence served by the widows and two of the adult children for illegally living in Pakistan.

Two widows are from Saudi Arabia, and the third is from Yemen. It’s unclear why the Yemeni woman is not being sent to her home country.

Bin Laden’s family has been in custody since last May, when U.S. commandos killed the al-Qaeda chief at the compound where he was hiding in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad.
