No reports on Sri Lankans affected in Paris attacks

There are no reports of any Sri Lankan affected in Friday's gun and bomb attacks in Paris, according to the Sri Lankan government.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said its officials in Paris were in touch with the authorities concerned to enquire if there were Sri Lankan nationals who were affected. “As of now, there are no reports.”

The statement added that as and when updates were available, they would be provided through the Ministry's twitter account, @MFA_SriLanka.

President Maithripala Sirisena has expressed grief over the incidents.
