November 20, 2015 10:40 pm | Updated 10:40 pm IST - ISLAMABAD:

Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire in Pakistan’s largest city of Karachi on Friday, killing four members of the security forces who were deployed outside a mosque.

Three of the paramilitary rangers were killed on the spot, said Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar, the director-general of paramilitary Rangers in southern Pakistan. Munir Ahmed, a police officer investigating the incident, said a fourth wounded in the attack later died in hospital.

Akbar said the rangers were inside a vehicle that was parked near the mosque when the assailants opened fire. In comments to local media, he said the attackers likely sought to target the mosque or a nearby seminary.
