Five killed in landslide in Nepal

Five people, including four children, on Sunday died and an equal number went missing in three separate landslides in Kaski and Shyangja districts in Nepal.

Three siblings were buried under the debris of their house which was flattened by landslide in Mijuredanda of Kaski, police said.

Maila Pariyar’s sons Rajenda (12), Shobhakar (7) and daughter Sukmaya (4) were killed when they were buried inside the house by the landslide triggered by heavy rain.

Pariyar couple and their two other sons escaped unhurt as they ran away from the house when the landslide started this morning.

In another incident, five persons went missing following a landslide in Khisti area of the district.

In Phedikhola of Shyangja, Ganga Mahat (27) and her son Kushal Mahat (4) were killed when a landslide swept away their house this morning.
