Five killed in suicide attack in northwestern Pakistan

Threee suicide bombers struck local courts in Charsadda city of north-western Pakistani province of KhyberPakhtunkhwa.

An injured child being taken to a hospital in Peshawar after suicide bombers attacked a courthouse in Charsadda, northwestern Pakistan, on Tuesday.

At least five people were killed and 10injured on Tuesday morning as police battled three suicide bombers at the gate of local courts in Charsadda city of north-western Pakistani province of KhyberPakhtunkhwa.

District Police Officer Charsadda Sohail Khalid told newsmen that three suicide bombers attacked Charsadda local courts at Tangi area. "One suicide bomber blew himself when intercepted by the police while two were gunned down. Due to the suicide bomber exploding himself five people lost their lives while at least ten injured that includes policemen,"he said.

The attack is followed by a series of attacks last week across Pakistan which claimed more than 110 lives.

Pakistan security forces had launched a major crackdown on terrorists sleeper cells killing at least 150 suspected terrorists. The military launched artillery attacks inside Afghanistan on the Pak-Afghan border.

The terror camps of Jamaatul Ahrar, a breakaway faction of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which has pledged allegiance to Islamic State also known as Daesh, were reportedly destoryed.
