August 04, 2010 12:26 am | Updated November 28, 2021 09:32 pm IST - ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan on Tuesday urged India to exercise restraint in Kashmir.

In a statement, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi articulated Pakistan's concern at the escalation of violence “against Kashmiri people that resulted in the loss of innocent lives.”

Mr. Qureshi reiterated Pakistan's “unequivocal solidarity” with the Jammu and Kashmir people. Islamabad would continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the “just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination.”
