British woman finds four yolks in one egg

Finding two yolks in an egg is rare enough, but a British woman has claimed to have made a more unusual discovery — four golden-yellow yolks from a single shell.

Ann Hordon, a 70-year-old pensioner, said she was shocked to find a quadruple yolker when she cracked it to make a sandwich.

Kevin Coles, from the British Egg Information Service, said the record number of yolks in one egg was nine, but four was still exceptional. He said the chances of finding a quadruple yolker is 11 billion to one.
