50 feared killed as bus plunges into river

Farooq Ahmad says the bus slid off the road on Friday in the Changa’n area and plunged into the Neelam River, some 60 miles (100 kilometers) from the regional capital of Muzaffarabad.

At least, 50 people were feared killed when a bus plunged into the Neelum River in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Friday, officials said.

The accident occurred at Changa when the bus was going to Neelum from PoK capital Muzaffarabad.

Assistant Commissioner Qayyum Mughal said rescue teams were trying to retrieve all the bodies from the river.

Divers and rescue workers had so far retrieved at least 25 bodies, State-run PTV reported.
