Two siblings, aged seven and eight, died after a van run over them near Saravanampatty on Wednesday.
The deceased were: Ambu (7) and Azhagar (8), children of Dhanavel, a resident of Samathuvapuram near Vellakkinar.
The police said that the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon on the stretch connecting Thudiyalur and Saravanampatti. The children had come along with Dhanavel who was collecting scrap items.

The van hit the children who were standing on the side of a road and ran over them.
The police said that the children were students of an elementary school at Vellakkinar. The bodies were taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
The police have arrested Rajendran, driver of the van.
