A 19-year-old woman allegedly set her husband ablaze in their thatched hut at Tindivanam on Thursday night. The woman identified as Murugaveni, of TV Nagar, has been arrested.
The police gave the name of the victim as Sethu alias Sethupathy, 19. They said the couple married recently and had moved in together a month ago. Sethupathy often suspected his wife of infidelity and quarrelled. On Thursday, one such argument broke out.
Murugaveni, angered by her husband’s comments, locked the hut’s door, doused it with kerosene and set it ablaze. Sethupathy was charred to death.
