Dares Chief Minister to sue two rebels

T.T.V. Dhinakaran

R.K. Nagar MLA and former AIADMK deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran has called upon the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to take a joint delegation of all MLAs to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and persuade him to constitute the Cauvery Management Board as directed by the Supreme Court.

Mr. Dhinakaran told presspersons here on Friday that such important issues called for immediate action on the part of the Tamil Nadu government. However, instead of addressing the concerns of the people, those holding the reins of administration were bothered about being in power.

Mr. Dhinakaran also wanted the Chief Minister to reply appropriately to the allegations made by the P. Vetrivel and Thangatamilselvan, who were expelled as MLAs, against Mr. Palaniswami for alleged corruption in the awarding of tenders for major road projects in the State. Hence, a probe was necessary, he said.

Mr. Palaniswami must either deny the allegations of MLAs or file cases of defamation against them. Without doing this, the Chief Minister had been deviating from the right path.

Mr. Dhinakaran expressed concern over the deterioration of law and order in Villupuram district. He said the AIADMK MLAs from Puducherry, who had made themselves prominent during his earlier visits to the Union Territory, had now become invisible. The Rajya Sabha member N. Gokulakrishnan was not on his side, he added.
