Swimming contest for students begins

Three-day event is being conducted by NLCIL for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya

The KVS Regional Swimming Meet under the banner of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chennai Region got under way on Tuesday at the NLC Swimming Pool Complex, Neyveli.

The NLC India Limited is conducting swimming competition for KV students. The three-day sports meet was declared open by Chief Guest R. Vikraman, Director (Human Resources), NLCIL.

During the meet which concludes on August 3, around 110 students from 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas belonging to Chennai Region, TN and Puducherry will compete in U-14, U-17 and U-19 Boys and Girls categories.

Mr. Vikraman, in his inaugural address stressed the importance of student participation in games and sports alongside the academic efforts.

He also urged the participants to uphold the sportsman spirit in sport.

N. Muthu, ED/HR, NLCIL; Mohan, CGM, CSR; M. Karthikeyan, CGM/TA; I. Nedumaran, Secretary, NLCIL Schools and R. Srinivasan, KV principal, participated in the inaugural function.
