Sub-registrar defies Collector, suspended

The government has suspended Oulgaret sub-registrar Senthil Nathan for assisting a Congress functionary get a property registered despite an order by the District Collector to maintain status quo on it.

The Collector had ordered status quo on the property at Kuil Thoppu after the patta owner informed the administration that his petition against sale of the land was pending in the court. Sources in the district administration said criminal proceedings would be initiated against the sub-registrar and others involved.
