SecSat Pondy sets stage for new year

SecSat Pondy opened Puducherry’s musical calendar this year on Saturday. Alan Rego and Alchemy had visitors on the Beach Road humming to classics and soft rock, like numbers by Paul Simon, Roy Orbison, Bryan Adams, Bob Marley, Police and Cliff Richard. Mr. Rego was accompanied by band members Nestor Lasrado on bass and Lebin Thomas on drums.

Bringing up the folk music element with Pongal around the corner was Abishegapakkam Brothers, led by P. Dhatchinamoorthy from Bharathiar Palkalai Koodam.

SecSat Pondy held by the Department of Tourism in association with event management company Scene, is held on second Saturdays. Organisers are hopeful of a packed year ahead, bringing in artistes from other cities.
