Colleges told to set up help desks on Centac premises to speed up admission

The Centralised Admission Committee (Centac) will hold a second extended round counselling on Tuesday for the surrendered seats of the all-India quota in government medical colleges and mop-up counselling for government seats.

In a press statement, Centac Coordinator P.T. Rudra Goud said the mop up counselling for management quota seats would be held on Wednesday. In view of the delay in the completion of admission process during the first and second round of counselling, the Centac has now instructed the colleges to set up admission help desks on its own premises so that the students could complete admission on the spot soon after the allotment of seats.

Students were accordingly advised to bring all the certificates. “The merit list has been updated with the newly registered candidates and the existing candidates who have opted for mop up counselling. Students who have joined are ineligible for mop-up counselling except for all India quota seats surrendered in the government colleges. For which, all students including those who have joined are eligible to participate in second extended counselling,” he said.

He added: “Students are advised to go through the seat matrix published on the Centac website. Candidates should pay full fee at the time of counselling itself, otherwise seats will not be allotted. For this, candidates can either transfer the fee in advance to Centac account mentioned on the website or bring a DD for the fee amount in favour of Centac PG medical. In case of NEFT/RGTS transfer, the amount credited will be refunded if the seat is not allotted.”
