Around 50 employees of the Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) staged a sit-in in front of the PTDC office protesting against non-payment of dues to the Puducherry Tourism and Transport Staff Credit Society for the last eight months.

The employees led by Balaguru, general secretary of the PTDC employees union, said though the amount had been deducted from their salaries, payment had not been made towards the society for the last eight months. They also alleged that there have been irregular deposits made for the last three years.

The agitators raised slogans against the management and urged the government to restructure their cadre and grade pay immediately.

R. Munisamy, Managing Director of PTDC, promised to look into their demands following which they withdrew their protest.
