The Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Villupuram Range) has announced award to informers who provide information on sale of illicit liquor and sand smuggling in Villupuram and Cuddalore districts.
A release from V. Balakrishnan, DIG, said that public could pass on any credible information to the Superintendents of Police Cuddalore (04142 - 284345) and Villupuram (04146 – 222172) and to the DIG office (04146 – 223620) any time of the day.

Ping the SPs

Public can send messages on Whatsapp to SP Villupuram 99520 22205 and SP Cuddalore on 94438 84395 and DIG on 94981 10088.
Mr. Balakrishnan said a special awareness campaign would be launched in Kalvarayan hills in Villupuram district to prevent illegal brewing of liquor.
The existing awareness and rehabilitation measures will be continued and criminals who take to auctioning of liquor would be taken to task.

Fiat to police
The DIG has directed police stations in Villupuram and Cuddalore districts to register CSR/FIR within 24 hours.
If action is not taken within three days from the date of petition, the petitioner can approach the Superintendents of Police.
The petitioner can approach the DIG if action is not initiated within three days from the date of submission of petitions to the SPs.
Petitioners can also meet the Inspectors of Police daily between 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. to present their grievances.
