Over 19,000 sit for SSLC examination

Over 19,000 students in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations which began on Thursday.

A total of 16,456 students – 8,250 boys and 8,206 – appeared for the examination in 37 centres in Puducherry. As many as 1,170 private candidates also took the exam.

The Karaikal region accounted for a total of 3,105 students – 1,499 boys and 1,606 girls. As many as 366 private candidates also wrote the exam in Karaikal.

Over 1,000 supervisors have been appointed to ensure the smooth progress of the examination.

Flying squads have been formed under the supervision of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ramalingam .
