To beat the sweltering heat, Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited distributed butter milk and lemon water to more than 10,000 people per day under the Jaladhara Scheme.
NLCIL honoured four volunteer organisations for their active involvement in this drive.
The Corporation extensively distributed butter milk and lemon water from April 14 to June 12 (for 60 days) in seven locations at Neyveli Township and one in Mandarakuppam. The expenditure incurred for the above event was ₹34 lakh under Corporate Social Responsibility.

The quantum of butter milk and lemon water distributed is 2.5 lakh litres and 10,000 litres respectively.
Voluntary organisations like Ramakrishna Seva Sangam, People Service Group (PSG), Association of voluntary Blood Donors (AVBD) and Neyveli Blood Donors Association (NBDA) of Neyveli lent their hand for the initiative.
On June 19, at Veludiyanpattu Temple Conference Hall, Neyveli, a programme was organised by the CSR department of the NLCIL to felicitate the members of the four voluntary organisations for their service.
