Minister flags off new bus services

Commercial Taxes Minister M.C. Sampath flagging off a new bus service to Villupuram from Cuddalore on Sunday.

Commercial Taxes Minister M.C. Sampath attended the bhoomi puja for the construction of the regional office building of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation here on Sunday.

Collector R. Kirlosh Kumar, TNSTC general manager Karunanidhi and other officials participated. The Minister had sanctioned a sum of Rs. 25 lakh from the MLA’s Local Area Development Fund for the construction of the regional office building.

On the occasion the Minister also flagged off three new bus services as follows: from Ulleripattu and Karaimedu seven trips would be operated to Villupuram; the Cuddalore — Pakkam Crossroad town bus service (T-19) would be extended to Kandamangalam via Nalmalmarudhur (six trips), and, 14 trips of town bus services would be operated from Cuddalore and Panruti to Melkumaramangalam.

The Minister said that these services would make easier the commute for the people of those areas, particularly students, office-goers and those who need health care.
