All India Congress Committee spokesperson Khushboo on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister N. Rangasamy stating that the ruling All India NR Congress had come to power on “false promises and assurances.”
Addressing a public meeting organised by the Congress here, Ms. Khushboo alleged that corruption had become rampant in the Union Territory and feared it would further escalate.
Questioning the nomenclature of the party floated by Mr. Rangasamy, she said how Mr. Rangasamy could use the term Congress as he had come out of the party and floated the AINRC.

“It was the Congress that gave Mr. Rangasamy an identity and made him the Chief Minister. After enjoying the fruits of power he had formed the AINRC to oppose the Congress,” she said.
Despite being in power for the last four years Mr. Rangasamy had not done anything for the people. He had come to power on a campaign of lies and the people of the UT will not trust him another time, the AICC spokesperson said.
Alleging nepotism in the appointment of over 5,000 people by the government, Ms. Khushboo said the Chief Minister was on a spree of providing jobs to people from his constituency while neglecting those from other constituencies.

Over 2.5 lakh youth in the Union Territory who had registered with the employment exchange remained unemployed.
Ms. Khushboo criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that there was no action on the Union Government’s promise of bringing back Black money.
She said that Mr. Modi was only obsessed with taking selfies with leaders during his foreign tour programmes.
Former Union Minister for State V. Narayanasamy accused the Chief Minister of not being keen about the welfare of the people.
