Jipmer releases book on plastic surgery

Book deals with the dilemmas of a plastic surgeon

Jipmer Director Dr. S.C. Parija at the launch of the book ‘Decisions and Planning in Plastic Surgery.’

The dilemmas of the plastic surgeon is the subject of a new book that has come out of Jipmer.

‘Decisions and Planning in Plastic Surgery’ (Jaypee Medical Publishers) is authored by Prof. Dr. Ravi Kumar Chittoria and Additional Professor Dr. Devi Prasad Mohapatra from the Department of Plastic Surgery in Jipmer.

Launching the publication, Dr. S.C. Parija, Director, Jipmer, described the book as the first of its kind which will help not only plastic surgeons but also postgraduates and clinicians from other branches of medicine like ENT, General Surgery, Dermatology or Orthopedics.

Dr. R.P. Swaminathan, Dean (Academic), said that Jipmer, as an institution of national importance, has been supporting the faculty to write books to promote scientific knowledge.

Both authors are highly experienced in teaching and clinical knowledge and have authored several books previously.

Muralidharan from Jaypee Medical Publishers and other faculties, students and staff of Jipmer participated in the launch function.

The book, which has been illustrated with photographs and illustrations, has been made available on online platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. A copy has been made available in the central library and department of plastic surgery library in Jipmer.
