Id-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the month of Ramzan, was celebrated in the city on Wednesday.
Wearing new clothes, thousands of Muslims participated in the special prayers organised at the Meeran mosque, Kuthuba, Muhammadh mosques and Gandhi thidal on Beach Road.

A large gathering of Muslims offered special prayers at the Idgah Mosque at Nellithope. After offering prayers, they greeted each other, exchanged sweets and offered alms to the poor. Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy and Revenue Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan extended their greetings.
